Seminar Outline:

Andree Wright, Director, Industry Performance and Review of the Australian Broadcasting Authority, which has carriage of the Internet Content Co-regulatory Scheme, will talk about the ABA's role in this Scheme, as well outlining how the ABA is approaching the inevitable convergence of media platforms, from an Australian and overseas perspective. This is of particular relevance in the light of recent proposals by the Attorney General's department to introduce new telecommunications offences outlawing the use of the internet for offensive and menacing purposes.
